HOME-town trainer Mark Schmetzer tasted success after Love None charged home to take out the 1280m Pirtek Muswellbrook Class 1 Handicap at Skellatar Park on Sunday, bringing up a double for jockey Mitchell Bell.

The Duke Of Marmalade mare, a $2000 yearling purchase, brought up her second career win on the Muswellbrook track from nine starts.
She beat Quite Frankly, who started $4.60 favourite after a significant betting plunge, with Rosella Malfi ($16) from the Rod Northam stable, third.
Schmetzer said he was happy to get the job done and start the new season with a winner.
“She likes Muswellbrook and it’s great to get another win here. It will be a good night,” he said.
“I’d only given her one trial going into her first start and she wasn’t fully wound up.
“I gave her five weeks between runs and her work last Wednesday was nice and solid and sharp.
“I put the winkers on her today and Mitch got the job done.”
Bell said it was a nice effort especially overcoming the wide barrier.
“It was always going to be tough and we had a bit of query on the surface but she handled it well.”
