Then come along on Sunday, September 10, from 11am, for the opening – including lunch and discussions.
“We hope people from a range of community groups and locals will see the benefit of this project and be able to attend the launch anytime from 11am to 1pm,” council’s sustainability coordinator Mark Scandrett said.
“The Hub will be a great place to learn about sustainable ideas such as composting, worm farms, water efficiency and renewable energy.
“It is hoped the area will be used by a range of local residents and community groups for initiatives such as community gardens, a plant nursery and more.”
The Hub is part of a larger “Sustainability Street” plan to develop the area between Bridge Street and Wilkinson Avenue into a space, which can be enjoyed by everyone.
