Don’t miss out on the next round of youth mental health first aid training, coordinated by Where There’s a Will.
This session will be focusing on including men, and will be visiting Aberdeen, Murrurundi, Scone, Denman and Muswellbrook.
Muswellbrook residents can sign up for the event on Saturday and Sunday, October 21 and 22;
While the workshop is valued at $490 per person, those who register can attend free of charge, due to generous support for the Where There’s a Will Foundation.
World-class presenter Geoffrey Ahern will deliver the workshop over two days.
Each day will be from 9am to 4pm, with a 30 minute lunch break.
Morning tea and lunch is provided by the community.
Course participants will learn about signs and symptoms of the common and disabling mental health problems, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has bene show by research as effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis.
Developing mental health concerns covered are depression, anxiety problems, psychosis and substance use issues.
Preference will be given to men.
Anyone who misses out can be placed on a wait list for the next training round.
