The Upper Hunter primary student is set to represent her school at the State Athletics Carnival in Sydney on October 18, in the junior girls high jump.
Charli placed first at Denman Public’s carnival in July, with a record-breaking jump of 1.10m.
The previous record, which she beat by 1cm, had been standing since 1993.
Her success continued at the zone athletics carnival in August, with Charli placing second in the junior girls high jump.
While the athlete missed out on first place, she beat her personal best with a jump of 1.11m.
On September 1, Charli travelled to Glendale to participate in the Regional Athletics Carnival.
Here she was up against some tough competition, jumping against the best from the Hunter region.
However, Charli left a champion, taking home first place after smashing her previous record, and clearing the bar at 1.20m.
Charli said she enjoyed the different levels of competition.
“It was lots of fun and very exciting when I found out I got first place,” she said.
“It gets really hard the higher the bar goes.”
All the staff, students and community of Denman Public School are very proud of Charli’s achievements and wish her the best at the state carnival next month.
