Our Country Rugby League supporters and volunteers just as important as our players, our club and its committee  placing great value on each and everyone involved.

With three extra teams based around our extraordinary Girls League Tag teams, our numbers, loyal momentum and player retention figures continue to rise.

We celebrated with five teams making it through to their respective grand finals and can proudly as a result, boast four premiership winning teams.

Every child was given a memento this year at the annual presentation day as a token of our appreciation and the sign of a bumper year for our club, an event so large we had to hold it over two locations at two separate time slots to accommodate us all at both the Muswellbrook Race Club and The Muswellbrook RSL club.

With support from the Greater Northern Region of CRL, Maitland and District JRL, Hunter Valley Combined Competition, Hunter Valley Group 21 Junior Rugby League, Play NRL Central Coast/Newcastle/Maitland, The Rugby League Academy and Muswellbrook Rams Senior RLFC we have really excelled. Accolades flowed throughout the day as teams were celebrated and individual achievements were recognised, some perpetual trophies were passed down the line and a new trophy inducted and some life members added to the history books.

Tony Deakin, Kurt Dial, Chris Dengate and brothers Wayne and Mick Barnes were awarded life membership after years of continual service and dedication to the club.

Bailey Taylor, Neil and Logan Parker were recognised for 10 Years Loyal service to the Club.

The club wishes to acknowledge the continued support of our valued local sponsors that allow us to bring the presentation day and jersey allocations to the players this year.

Our 2018 Executive committee was announced throughout the day with retiring Club President Chris Dengate in full support of newly elected Club President John Marco.

John Deakin and Ben Farmer have been whole heartedly welcomed to the fold as Senior and Junior Vice President replacing retiring Vice Presidents Shaun Williams and Janelle Chapman, who have done a stellar job helping to administer the club.

Club Secretary Bronwyn Pettit and Treasurer Belinda Rousell, stay on for another reliable term of volunteering service.

Our club is building in numbers both in players and volunteers and our recent AGM saw all positions filled with a record number in attendance. 

We look forward to fielding at least one side in each age group in the 2018 season, with possible spots for multiple teams in the younger age divisions as we do each year.

Coaching applications are now open to those interested in coming on board to develop and mentor the future of our club.

The club also celebrated its 50th anniversary in June which saw us host a life members vs. club dignitaries match which bought the past and present legends of our club together on the paddock for what has been hailed the match of the year.

We hosted a huge home game which then culminated in a seated dinner with live entertainment later that evening where stories of footy folklore were exchanged with good times and laughter, an event bought about by months of planning and preparations from our hard working committee members.

2017 as a Ram has certainly been an incredible adventure for us all, so as we look to rest for a few weeks before summer sports begin, let’s take a moment to appreciate all that we have achieved and all that our kids have dazzled and enlightened us with – well done Rams, you were brilliant, you were inspirational, you were challenging, you were accommodating and most of all you were loved.

Hang those boots, those aprons, those clipboards, those tongs, those training kits, those mouth guards and those drink bottles up for the summer and we look forward to seeing you all again in the blue and gold next year.
