Damon Boeckx, Talesin Court-Kriesch, Jesse Streader and Lara Collins received Bengalla tertiary study scholarships upon graduation.

“Muswellbrook High School is grateful for the strong relationship that we have with Bengalla Mine,” principal Elizabeth Bate said.

“Our students are the beneficiaries of this.

“Commencing university and relocating is a costly experience for rural students.

“Bengalla’s tertiary study scholarships assist to offset some of those expenses and I know they are gratefully received by the recipients.”

Each year under the Bengalla Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme, four Muswellbrook High School students receive $3000 towards their tertiary studies while a fifth scholarship is given to a student from any local secondary school whose parent is an employee of Bengalla mine.

“Bengalla has a longstanding history with Muswellbrook High School which continues to be a partnership we value,” Bengalla CEO Cam Halfpenny said.

“Over the last 17 years we have awarded 95 scholarships through the Bengalla Undergraduate Scholarship.

“The scholarship is a valuable way for our mine to support students in the local region and encourage them to seek tertiary education.

“I congratulate the scholarship recipients and wish them success in their pursuit of further studies and chosen career paths.”
