KRIS and Kylie Facer didn’t know what to expect when they started organising Muswellbrook’s first Steptember Walk. All they knew is they wanted to help other families with children affected by cerebral palsy, like their baby Anika.

The Cerebral Palsy Alliance fundraiser began at Simpson Park on Saturday morning, and included a walk, food, stalls, and entertainment for the whole family.
“We had 82 adults and kids do the walk,” Mrs Facer said.
“I’m not sure how many turned up but we had a fairly decent crowd.”
The final fundraising total is yet to be counted, but the Muswellbrook mother is sure there will be at least $5000 to donate to the Cerebral Palsy Alliance.
“I would to thank the Muswellbrook Lions Club; Upper Hunter Community Services, in particular Skye Bennett; and everyone at Muswellbrook Shire council who got involved,” she said.
