The local club will host its annual presentation night at Highbrook Park on Friday, November 3, from 6pm for a 6.30pm start.
The Heelers’ campaign reached the decider, following impressive wins over Cooks Hill 1 and Southern Lakes in the play-offs.
However, Easts 1 prevailed on grand final day 17-6 at No 2 Sportsground.
And, while they fell short of the championship title in their historic 50th season, Muswellbrook’s efforts during 2017 did not go unnoticed.
Harry Hobden was named the NHRU Divisional Player of the Year.
On top of that, Muswellbrook was crowned the 2017 NHRU Club of the Year, based on a range of criteria, including administration and spirit of the game.
“That’s a real boom for our club to win that considering we were against some very slick [clubs] around Newcastle,” coach Michael Hall said.
Tickets for the function – $45 per person, which includes a drink upon arrival, canapes, tapas and entertainment until late – can be purchased from Open Cut for Men (during business hours) or by arrangement from Shannon Hall (via mobile 0404 250 185 or secretary.mbrookrugby@gmail.com).
