About 120 St Joseph’s students, including some who are only just starting Year 7 this year, and 44 clients from integratedliving Australia, Challenge, Samaritans and Endeavour, have been working together in workshops since Tuesday.
This year’s theme is "Camp Rock", which includes musical groups that include genres like pop, rock, soul and country as well as an instrumental group.
But, following the movie of the same name, there will be a bit of sabotage involved.
Integratedliving’s Chic Taylor has worked with the All Stars concert since its inception 12 years ago and said there have been lots of smiles, laughter and excitement over the past couple of days.
“Everyone will participate in different workshops – art, drama, music, dance and sport,” Ms Taylor said.
“During these workshops is where the concert prep begins.
“It's amazing after four days of workshops what is put together for the final concert, it’s a must-see event.”
Ms Taylor said the St Joseph's students had excelled yet again this year in the organisation and preparations for the All Stars week, with the core group of six to eight pupils having started planning for 2018 at the preceding year’s event.
Entry to the concert is a gold coin donation and all funds raised go towards All Stars week 2019, for catering and props or whatever is needed.
This year there are about 170 mouths to feed which takes some organisation and funds.
The All Stars Concert is on Saturday, January 20, starting at 5.30pm in the school Hall at St Joseph's High in Aberdeen.
