Police will allege two men were travelling in a stolen white Holden Stateman through the Singleton, Muswellbrook and Rylstone areas on Wednesday, January 17.
Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District were advised the men had also stolen a Holden utility and trailer in Rylstone.
Just before 6pm yesterday, police responded to reports of two stolen vehicles located parked on the side of Lue Road outside of Mudgee.
The men allegedly left the Holden Statesman behind and drove off in the utility towards Mudgee.
A police pursuit began on Lue Road but was terminated due to safety reasons.
The utility was later recovered abandoned in Burrundulla Avenue, Mudgee.
Another pursuit was initiated through Mudgee after the men were located travelling in a silver Mitsubishi Pajero.
It is alleged the men drove onto a fire trail near Lowes Peak Road, Saint Fillans, before driving through paddocks and crashing into a deep storm channel.
The men, aged 37 and 36, were arrested following a short foot pursuit in Saints Lane.
The men were taken to Dubbo Base Hospital with minor injuries.
Police seized several items from the stolen vehicles, including tools, chain saws and a quad bike.
It will be alleged the 36-year-old man assaulted a female police officer during a traffic stop in Mudgee on Sunday, January 14.
He was charged and bail refused at Dubbo Local Court today.
About 8am on Thursday, the 37-year-old man, Benjamin Biffin, escaped from Dubbo Base Hospital.
After he escaped he stole a car and headed for the Mudgee area.
He was later engaged in a pursuit before dumping the car and fleeing on foot in the Mudgee township.
A wide-scale search involving numerous resources is currently underway throughout the area to try and locate the man.
