Brooklyn Chaina is happy for her gifts to be given to the kids with “owies in hospital” and, according to her parents Mathew and Sarah, it’s about setting an example for their daughter and instilling important values like generosity and caring.
“We’re teaching Brooklyn that it’s important to give to those in need,” Mr Chaina said.
“She already has so many toys.
“We believe in giving back to the community and helping those less fortunate than us.
“We all spoil our kids but love and affection are the most important things.”
Fittingly, the birthday party last Sunday had a female superhero theme with Brooklyn dressed as her favourite character Wonder Woman.
Her guests followed suit and, as requested, brought presents for the patients at the Sydney Children’s Hospital, which Mr Chaina will deliver in the next couple of days.
The manager at ToyMate, at Tuggerah, has kindly donated $200 worth of toys to the family’s cause, too.
Little Brooklyn is obsessed with Wonder Woman, Batman and the Justice League and it was a special moment when her hero Wonder Woman strode into the park to crash the party for a while.
“Brooklyn is full of love, she is one of the most loving and affectionate children,” Mr Chaina said proudly.
“I’m a big believer in karma and want to make society a better place.
“We also want to encourage other people to be generous and considerate and show as much kindness as possible.
“There’s so much bad stuff that goes on, we want people to know there’s still good in this world.
“Special mention must go to McDonald’s for giving us 40 boxes of cookies [to all the kids] and Dominos for giving us a massive discount for all the delicious pizzas.”
