Harmony Day takes place each year in March and is a day to celebrate cultural diversity.
It is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
Harmony Day has always been a community celebration.
Since 1999, more than 70,000 events and activities have been conducted across the country, from the smallest childcare centres to the largest businesses.
The message of Harmony Day is everyone belongs.
The Muswellbrook Multi-Cultural Group has been involved in Harmony Day now for several years – and seen it growing bigger each year.
In 2018, it will be held on Saturday, March 10, in the Muswellbrook Indoor Sports Centre, Rutherford Road, from 4pm to 7pm.
The afternoon, and evening, will be abuzz with cultural activities some of which are showcasing Indonesia, Thailand, India, Japan and the Philippines.
There will also be Henna hand painting, hair braiding, singing and dance.
Uncle Perry will play the didgeridoo and present interactive activities.
Sheri will get everyone into the groove with her Zumba.
African Drummers will demonstrate and teach their art of music.
Cooking demonstrations and taste-tantalising food from around the globe will be on offer.
The night will finish with the song, We Are Australian, sung by all.
Please come along and join in this wonderful cultural experience.
BHP Mt Arthur Coal, Upper Hunter Community Services, Hope City Church, NSW Government and Muswellbrook Multi-Cultural Group are joining together to celebrate Harmony Day.
