A MAN has died after a single-vehicle crash in the Hunter Valley.

About 1.30am on Saturday, a Ford Falcon sedan was found crashed at the side of Cullingral Road, Merriwa, police said.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 34-year-old man, died at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated by officers from Hunter Valley Police District.
Police investigators are appealing for anyone who may have seen the car prior to the accident to come forward and share the information.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner, police said.
