Police were called to a house on Tindale Street just before noon on Wednesday, after reports surfaced the man had barricaded himself inside a home.

Officers from Hunter Valley Police District along with other specialist police attended the scene and started negotiations with the man.

About 3.30pm, the man was arrested without incident and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station where he is being assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

Inquiries are continuing.
