MORE than 100 students displayed their prowess in the arena during the Bengalla School Beef Cattle Competition at the 2018 Upper Hunter Show on Friday.

Pupils from as far away as Dungog, Tuggerah Lakes, Raymond Terrace and further afield mixed it with a strong local contingent representing Muswellbrook, Aberdeen, Scone and Singleton.
Upper Hunter Show Society vice-president Luke Drayton admitted he was delighted with the response.
“It’s great to see so many kids involved,” he said.
Over the next two days, there’ll be the Triple B Rodeo, wife carrying championships, State of Origin polocrosse series, tug of war competition, wood chopping, vintage machinery displays, showjumping, tent pegging, Showtime FMX Motocross, working dog demonstrations, demolition derby, Sideshow Alley, fireworks, Young Farmers Challenge and much, much more.
The grand parade, official opening and announcement of the Upper Hunter Showgirl is scheduled to take place on Saturday from 2pm.
