Last year’s event attracted a record crowd of 500 people to Maitland Showground Pavilion to help raise money for Vision Australia.
Following the 2017 success, this year’s event will again be held at the showground on Thursday, May 17.
Gabi is a qualified orthoptist and worked for her late husband, Fred Hollows, screening for and treating eye disease within remote indigenous communities.
This was a life-changing experience for Gabi who previously knew little about indigenous Australia. She remains on the board of the Fred Hollows Foundation as Founding Director.
She has also received the Advance Australia Award for Community Service, and was made Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International.
Gabi was born in Newcastle and raised on an orchard near Gosford.
NBN’s Natasha Beyersdorf will be master of ceremonies at this year’s luncheon will also feature performances by Australia’s Got Talent contestant Matt McLaren.
Tickets are $90 and available by contacting the committee’s social secretary on 0425 248 425
