Almost two years ago, on July 4, 2016, to be precise, the building that housed Repco, TLE Electrical and Platinum Dance Centre on Market Street, caught fire and was subsequently demolished.
Repco employees travelled to Singleton and based themselves from that Repco store, sometimes making five trips back to Muswellbrook per day to make deliveries.
“We’re the only store of our kind that delivers to our account customers,” store manager Danielle Voigt said.
The Muswellbrook staff then relocated to a shed in the industrial estate before finally moving in to a new facility on Sydney Street.
The store opened for business on December 18, 2017, the first time it has had a retail section since the fire and won its award in the very first quarter of operation.
“Things are slowly picking up,” Ms Voigt said.
“It’s good to be rewarded for the hard work and also to be in the running to win store of the year.”
Repco Muswellbrook has recently begun operating a ‘click and collect’ program that enables a customer to pick up their order within 60 minutes.
