MAKING back-to-back trips to the Central Coast did not have an effect on the Muswellbrook Cats as they produced a quality effort over four quarters to defeat their hosts Killarney Vale by 55 points in their Black Diamond AFL Plate fixture on Saturday, 12.7.79 to 3.6.24.

Looking to rebound from their loss to Terrigal Avoca the previous week, the Cats completely shut down the Bombers in the final three quarters, kicking eight goals to one to run away with a very satisfying win.
Jessy Besford starred up forward for the Cats, producing five majors in an excellent performance.
Besford was well-supported by the reliable Jon Williams, who kicked three.
Muswellbrook was best served by Nigel Smith, Jackson Cook, Besford, Jedd Stojakovic and Matt Dunn.

In the GE Women’s fixture, Muswellbrook fought very hard against their fourth-placed opponents but eventually went down to Killarney Vale by 104 points, 14.20.104 to 0.0.0.
The Cats tried extremely hard, however couldn’t find an avenue to goal against a talented Bombers outfit.
Muswellbrook’s best players were Samantha Rodrigues, Meghann Sawkins, Brittany Creighton, Karli Anshaw and Paris Adam.
Next, the Black Diamond Plate side enjoys its final bye of the season, while the women travel to Teralba to also play Cardiff as part of the Hunter Haval Black Diamond AFL’s Women’s Round.
