The effervescent 10-year-old hosted a special lesson for other children back in January, with overwhelming success.
So, it was a no-brainer to present a second Kids’ Outdoor Cooking Class, according to her mum Mel Atkinson, from Upper Hunter Community Services.
“The feedback from the previous one was fantastic,” she said.
“People were commenting that their children learnt a lot about food and that they wanted to help around the kitchen more.
“They also liked the fact a young person showed them what to do, instead of an adult.
“That’s probably why we have 30 registered [today].
“A big thanks must go to the Muswellbrook Race Club, who donated the Disney and Spider-man aprons.”
Caitlin, a Scone Grammar School Year 5 student, provided the youngsters with a fun, hands-on, step-by-step, interactive demonstration.
And, afterwards, homemade hamburgers and banana smoothies ensured every tastebud was satisfied.
“I really enjoyed the experience [in January],” Miss Atkinson said.
“So, I was keen to do it again.
“I love cooking.
“I do a lot of it at home, too.
“I also have my own cooking website and my own cupcake stand at the local markets.”
Upper Hunter Community Services is also keen to introduce the YAPIT program into the region.
“YAPIT stands for ‘Young And Proud Of It’,” Mrs Atkinson said.
“So, like Caitlin for example, we want to hear from children who have talents they’d like to share with other kids.
“It could be anything from art to music.”
