While a charity motorcycle ride has been planned, the Shamrock Hotel will also host a fundraising night for Sallye Schuemaker, who is battling breast cancer.
So, put Saturday, July 28, in your diary now.
“Sallye’s a beautiful, local girl,” Shamrock Hotel owner Heidi Fenton said.
“And, I’m big on taking care of our own.
“We’ll have music, a barbecue, raffles and an auction of items, kindly donated by business houses in town.
“We’d love a lot of support, for Sallye, on the night.
“All the money raised will go towards covering her living costs, medication, food and rent.
“Every little bit truly helps.”
First prize in the raffle could also be timely, especially with the cold temperatures we’re experiencing at the moment.
“We’ve got a trailer-load of firewood, which will be delivered to the winner’s door,” Mrs Fenton said.
“Tickets are $5 each – and available from the Shamrock Hotel.
“We’re also selling shirts for $50 a pop.
“If we don’t have your size, please contact me as they usually take about three-to-five days to arrive.”
The function kicks off from 6pm.
The charity motorcycle ride will complement the Shamrock Hotel’s fundraiser, too.
Riders are set to leave the Muswellbrook pub from 2pm that day, returning in time for the festivities.
“We’re hoping to attract motorcyclists from throughout the Hunter Valley,” said one of the organisers, Troy Windle.
