And, the entertainer who made that sentiment a smash hit, John Paul Young, will fittingly headline a benefit night for the men and women on the land at the Muswellbrook RSL Club next month.
“We’re delighted JPY has agreed to perform at the event,” said Len Kelman, who is organising the Need for Feed Disaster Relief fundraiser with Craig Tate.
“Muswellbrook Coal is also on board as the major sponsor.
“We’ll have plenty of entertainment, with the likes of JPY and band Coal Train, and an auction and raffles.
“We’re hoping to raise between $15,000 and $20,000 – that’s the goal.
“At this stage, we’ve pencilled in Saturday, September 22, as the date.”
JPY is surely one of Australia’s most-loved and iconic music acts.
The Scottish born singer/songwriter enjoyed worldwide chart success in the 1970s with Love Is In The Air.
Not surprisingly, it’s still one of the most requested tracks in the Australian songbook.
His long association with Vanda and Young also produced classic songs such as Yesterday’s Hero, I Hate The Music and Standing In The Rain.
He was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2009.
Tickets for the function, which includes a two-course meal, are $90 each or $800 for a table of 10 - and are on sale now.
