A number of locals turned to social media to vent their frustrations.
However, council posted a statement on its website, saying:
“The water main that feeds a large area of south Muswellbrook burst, resulting in loss of pressure and water to many homes.
“An inspection is underway and a repair team is being organised to work on the break and restore services as quickly as possible.
“If any residents require bottled water for drinking purposes during the period of water loss, please hold the line to speak with our on call operator.”
