And, DPS’s exceptional achievements continued recently with three students qualifying for representation at state level.
Lauren Neverov has grown from strength-to-strength during athletics training this year.
She’s refined her technique with Dennis Pitt at Friday’s workshops – and developed a passion for field events.
After winning shot put at the school carnival, the youngster progressed to zone and regional competitions, recording an outstanding personal best of 7.96m.
Neverov now moves through to the NSW PSSA State Championships in Sydney in October.
Meanwhile, aspiring cricketers Ashton Blake and Eden Andrews have been selected to represent the Hunter PSSA side.
The pair will compete in the four-day NSW State Carnival when Term 4 resumes.
Andrews is a keen bowler who has relished the opportunity to meet other female players during the trials.
While she’s a great all-rounder, her right arm medium-paced bowling is her biggest strength.
Andrews relocated to the Denman community in late 2017 – and has excelled in all areas at Denman Public School.
This is Blake’s fourth state representation for Denman Public School.
He has participated in rugby league, chess and mathematics at NSW level.
He’s now looking forward to the opportunity to represent the Hunter team with his impressive right arm fast bowling.
“I’m absolutely delighted with the continued success of all students at Denman Public School,” principal Megan Druitt said.
