The organisation hosted its popular Table Topics and Humorous Speech competitions at the Muswellbrook and District Workers Club on Monday evening.
Helen Simpson reaped the spoils in the former category while Graham Turvey prevailed in the latter division.
The winners will now progress to the Area 12 decider at Maitland on Sunday, November 4.
“Our contests are held to further the experiences a Toastmaster can have – and to push them on to the next level of public speaking,” vice-president public relations Jenny Webster said.
“The humorous speech contest is not about a series of one-liners.
“It is a speech (thematic in nature) with the usual opening, body and conclusion.
“The Table Topics is actually an impromptu speech.
“All the contestants are offered the same subject, given to them as they are introduced.”
