Lisa Hall will trek almost 2000km over several weeks to gather as many signatures on her car, dubbed Sam the Survival Vehicle, as possible in an attempt to show those affected they are cared about.
She is travelling from the Sunshine Coast to Charlestown and then back again, and will be passing through Muswellbrook on Wednesday, September 26.
Ms Hall said she knows people can feel isolated even when they’re in remission, and struggle to see a light at the end of the tunnel, with words often not being enough to lift their spirits.
“My daughter wasn’t doing well after her breast cancer surgery,” she explained.
“I found telling her that there was hope wasn’t working, so I thought I’d show her.”
By Monday, the road trip had only been going for four days and already collected approximately 50 signatures.
Ms Hall expects she will add significantly to that in the coming weeks.
She will stop into Muswellbrook on Wednesday at about 10am at the PCYC, and will stay for as long as she feels is necessary.
The selfless woman urges people to head down and support the cause that is as important as ever, with just less than 5800 new cases predicted to impact NSW families in 2018.
“If you’re a breast cancer survivor then please come along and help us spread hope for everyone around the area, or the country, or even the world,” Ms Hall said.
