And, Upper Hunter Community Services urges anyone and everyone to join the cause.
Located at Campbell’s Corner outside of Double Picc, all businesses in the complex have gotten involved and are keen to see others take part.
The food drive collects items that can be used as part of a parcel, which is distributed out to provide support for the vulnerable and those in need.
The “travelling trolley” has been a popular fixture for several years and Upper Hunter Community Services’ Jessica Dallah said it’s a great initiative to get behind.
“It’s good, it goes well out in the community and people are starting to be more and more aware (of it) because we’re getting more and more donations,” she explained.
“So, that’s really good.”
One of the supervisors of the project, Jesse Court, said they’re looking to receive as many donations as possible in the following week before it finishes.
It is certainly a great way to get behind the community and show support and empathy for those that are doing it tough during these times.
