MUSWELLBROOK’S Andrew Robinson had an opinion of his filly, Trophies Galore, from the day she had her first gallop.

And, it was only enhanced when she flew home from near last on the turn to run sixth in the Miss Finland last April at her first start.
But, there was alarm soon after when vets told the trainer that the filly had suffered a serious injury in running in the Muswellbrook feature for two-year-olds.
“She ended up with a stress fracture in a shoulder and we think she did it during the race when she wobbled around the turn,” Robinson said.
“To do what she did with an injury like that was very impressive and only confirmed my opinion of her.
“I hope she will develop into something a little bit special, not just for myself but also for two of her owners, Danielle and David Proctor.
“They have been with me since the day I took out my licence three years ago and have given me nothing but encouragement.”
The vets told Robinson to give Trophies Galore three-and-a-half to four months in the paddock but he decided to play it safe and give her five.
“The shoulder is fine and she has come back a much stronger and more mature filly,” he said.
“Her work has been really good although she is a funny thing on the track.
“She can be quite lazy on her own but once she has a work mate things change and you really see what she can do.”
Trophies Galore resumes in the TAB.COM.AU Maiden (1000m) at Muswellbrook on Tuesday in what Robinson hopes will be the first step towards a rewarding season for the stable, not just from her but from several of his other horses.
“We have had a quiet time of late but several of the good horses such as Barr Hill and Mac’s Reward have been spelling while I have several youngsters, including Trophies Galore, that have needed a lot of attention,” he said.
“The immediate focus will be the Muswellbrook carnival then we will look beyond that.
“It would be great to win another three straight with Barr Hill and particularly one over the carnival.”
The two-day Muswellbrook carnival features the Country Championships Wild Card on Sunday, March 24, and the Muswellbrook Cup the following Friday, March 29.
Barr Hill won three in succession at Muswellbrook, Newcastle and Gunnedah before failing at several starts after that.
“She is a difficult mare to train so I gave her a good break and she has come back looking really well,” Robinson said.
He has also nominated Lord Whiskey, another horse the Proctors own a share in, for two races on Tuesday.
He has been entered for the Godolphin Benchmark 66 (1450m) and the Muswellbrook Cup Day 29th March Class One and Maiden (1750m) but there is no certainty he will start in either race.
Robinson is also looking at a race at Dubbo on Sunday week for him.
