The gifted youngsters raced against competitors from Singleton, Muswellbrook, Aberdeen as well as the hosts – and were cheered on by their families and friends.
“DPS has some amazing swimmers who never give up,” sports coordinator Amanda Ballard said.
“We were really fortunate to have a talented cohort of swimmers from participating schools to challenge us at the carnival.”
Principal Megan Druitt believes the real winners on the day were each and every student who competed in their events, demonstrating willpower and great sportsmanship regardless of their placings.
“Sport is about having a go and challenging yourself to do your best,” she said.
“Pupils at Denman Public School display determination and perseverance time and time again.”
Congratulations to Indya, Archie T, Keedan, Eddy, Jonathan, Caitlyn, Matilda and Phoebe who have all qualified to compete at the PSSA Regional Swimming Championships in Singleton on March 5.
