With more than 5000 people again expected to attend on Friday and Saturday, March 15 and 16, organisers have been tireless in their efforts to present a festival that aims to both entertain and educate.
“We believe we’ve pulled together a two-day celebration that will put a smile on people’s faces, give them some amazing experiences, and offer visitors to the region some education about the importance of the farming and agriculture sectors,” Upper Hunter Show Society president Keith Googe said.
“It’s also a chance to show our support for local farming communities, many of whom are experiencing significant hardship through the extended drought conditions.”
Headlining the 2019 Upper Hunter Show will be the Rooftop Express “Heroes of the Outback” show, which has captivated audiences Australia-wide with its all-star line-up of horses, dogs, cattle and trucks.
The show’s annual Triple B Rodeo also returns, with some of Australia’s best bull riders pencilling in on Friday night.
A full program of entertainment, including music, the traditional demolition derby and the Fireworks Finale, will emphasise Saturday’s program.
All of the favourite events will be back, including tent-pegging, whip cracking, the Young Farmer Challenge, Wife Carrying Championship, Tug-of-War, exciting rides and Sideshow Alley.
“And, we’ll also be giving people the chance to take a more active part in our Miss Showgirl judging with the People’s Choice category,” Mr Googe said.
“Your judging sheet this year will be with your entry tickets.
“Don't forget to fill it out and place it into the entry box at the Show Office.”
The Upper Hunter Show will deliver great value for money with two days of entertainment.
Single or two-day passes are available.
A Two Day Pass is $25 for adults or $50 for families (2 adults and up to 3 children) and aged pensioners are $5 per day.
