More than 80 participants, from as far as Queensland and Victoria, teed off with a strong local contingent at the Muswellbrook Golf Club for the traditional 18-hole individual stableford.
The action continues on Tuesday, with Wednesday a designated "rest day".
Thursday, March 21, features the NSWVGA competition across all grades, while a 2BBB medley stableford wraps it up on Friday, March 22, followed by the presentation.
"I'd like to thank all those businesses, and organisations, who have thrown their support behind the Week of Golf," Upper Hunter Veteran Golfers Association president Bruce Robinson said.
"We really appreciate their [financial] assistance.
"It's a great opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, too, as you make some good friends along the journey."
