TWO men were refused bail at Singleton Local Court on Friday after being arrested for drug possession 24 hours earlier at Whittingham.

About 2.20am on Thursday, March 21, officers from the Hunter Valley Police District Highway Patrol were keeping watch around the New England Highway.
They observed a motor vehicle travelling north along the highway, which caught their interest.
Police caught up to the vehicle, stopping it for the purpose of a breath test, and spoke with the occupants.
They then saw the driver holding an amount of, what they alleged to be, cannabis in a bag, in his hand.
As a result of this, the driver, a 49-year-old Maitland man, was placed under arrest and a search was carried out of the vehicle and the occupants.
During the search, a quantity of crystal methylamphetamine was located on the passenger, a 29-year old Muswellbrook man.
It was secreted in his pants, as well as what was believed to be an amount of liquid methylamphetamine.
Both occupants where then arrested and conveyed to Singleton Police Station.
Once the passenger was placed into custody, police took the driver to Singleton Hospital for blood and urine tests after a failed assessment of his sobriety.
The 49-year-old man was charged with drive while suspended, breach of bail, and possess a prohibited drug.
The 29-year-old man was charged with two counts of possess a prohibited drug and two counts of supply a prohibited drug.
