MUSWELBROOK'S long list of young and talented sports stars proving themselves at higher levels has continued, with a young footballer set to ply his trade at a tournament in Tokyo.

Footballer Wil Southcombe will represent Northern New South Wales in the Tokyo U-14 International Football Youth Tournament early next month.
The 13-year-old will have the chance to display his class against sides from across the world, including teams run by the likes of Argentinian giants Boca Juniors and the English Premier League's Tottenham Hotspur.
This is a huge achievement for the Muswellbrook local, who attends school at St Joseph's Aberdeen, and he's anxious to display his best in such a global setting.
"Last year we weren't eligible to go because we weren't in the old enough age group but this year as soon as we got the opportunity we made the most of it," he said.
"I've very excited because it will be a good experience in general, not just to play football but also to be able to go over there and experience the culture and everything else."
The youngster begun his blossoming career at the Muswellbrook Eagles at five years old, and learnt his trade as a midfielder there before moving to the Hunter Valley Hawks at twelve.
It will be a very tough competition but as the only Australian side competing they will have something to prove, and Wil is likely to be a key player in the sixteen man squad as they look to assert their dominance in an international setting.
