DESPITE the presence of gloomy skies, the youngsters certainly shone brightly at the annual Muswellbrook Netball Association March Past and Team Chant at Karoola Park on Saturday morning.

While parents and fellow family members rugged up for the occasion, about 14 teams braved the conditions to participate in the time-honoured event.
"It's great to see the effort on show [today]," Muswellbrook Netball Association president Louise Martin said.
"Everyone went to a lot of trouble, especially with the current weather - I think it turned a few squads away.
"But, we're looking forward to a big season.
"We have more than 30 teams competing in 2019, which is terrific.
"A big thanks must go to all the sponsors, including Bengalla and the Muswellbrook and District Workers Club, who continue to support our sport."
For the record, Pinkalicious sang sweetly to take home the Best Team Chant while Seeing Stars was certainly a crowd favourite, winning the Best March Past title.
