Born and raised in town, the youngster completed a Bachelor of Computer Science and Technology Advanced, which was an outstanding result and a great reward for his hard work and dedication.
During Mr Nichols' degree, he gained recognition for his development project and received the Microsoft Award for best senior development project, interning for the company Agriwebb.
He and his team developed a program aimed to help farmers across Australia, by simplifying their farm record-keeping.
The former Scone Grammar School student has since gained a permanent position with One Disease medical research group in Sydney as a program developer.
And, Mr Nichols is extremely excited about what the future may hold for his career.
His very proud parents are Guy and Tanya Nichols, with equally proud grandparents Harry and Jenny Nichols and John and Maysie Ducey.
