REPRESENTATIVES of the Muswellbrook RSL and Golf Club witnessed the fruits of their generosity first-hand at the weekend.
CEO Daryl Egan and his fellow directors Bob Blaikie, Barry Eveleigh and Tim Dagg toured Newcastle's Ronald McDonald House on Sunday - and popped in to see the room the organisation sponsors, with the help of the local community.
While there, they also presented a cheque to those who provide a home-away-from home to families of seriously-ill children.
"The RSL and Golf Club hosted a charity golf day at the end of May, raising $5000 for Ronald McDonald House," Mr Egan said.
"We were proud to hand them the donation after being given a tour of the premises and provided with a rundown of how everything operates."
The Newcastle House offers parents a comfortable place to stay and peace of mind, knowing they can stay together and close to their child at the John Hunter Children's Hospital.
Mr Egan said the Muswellbrook RSL and Golf Club was also delighted to financially assist a room at the Hunter facility every year.
"The charity golf day will be an annual event on our calendar from now on to raise money for this very worthwhile service, which serves families of the Upper Hunter," he explained.
"They provide a homely experience to those who need it most, while the common areas allow for shared journeys and unwavering support.
"Thank you to all who donate to this wonderful charity.
"We are forever grateful to be room sponsors."
