While the organisation's unbeaten under-14s reign supreme in their age division, and enjoyed a bye in round 11, the older outfit retained equal first position on the ladder after thumping fourth-placed South Lakes 42-4 at Olympic Park on Saturday.

Donning their Where There's a Will socks, to support the Upper Hunter's not-for-profit charity, the young Ramettes put the cleaners through the weekend's rivals.

Having previously amassed 338 points in attack, Muswellbrook led 30-0 at the break, thanks to doubles to Tenahya Dennis and Matilda Jones, as well as tries to Isabella Wilton and Storm Edwards.

Georgia Smith landed three conversions.

Both teams then lifted their intensity in the second period, ensuring a closer battle in the final half an hour.

While the Ramettes eventually cracked in the 56th minute, the side still prevailed by 38 courtesy of another try to Jones - giving her a hat-trick for the afternoon - and one to Emily Chapman.

Smith booted another two goals to cap off the victory.

Muswellbrook now boasts nine wins in 2019, with just the solitary loss.

And, coach Dave Smith was delighted with the result.

"They produced a real good defensive effort out there today," he said.

"Everyone worked hard - and for each other.

"It's fantastic to see.

"We have players from Aberdeen, Denman, Muswellbrook and Scone in this squad, but they've gelled as a group.

"They are a good bunch of kids.

"This format of league [tackle] has opened the door for a number of the girls, too.

"They're really embracing the concept."
