MUSWELLBROOK Shire Council will conduct planned maintenance works on the south Muswellbrook water main this week.
The process will require a temporary suspension of the water supply to properties in that part of town from approximately 9.30pm on Monday, July 15, to 2am on Tuesday, July 16.
A council spokesperson said it was anticipated that full restoration of the water service would be reinstated by 5am on Tuesday.
"The maintenance work is necessary for the efficient functioning of the south Muswellbrook water main," they said.
"Following restoration of the water supply, should you experience any discolouration of water, please run your tap for approximately two minutes.
"Water colouration should become clear within this period of time.
"If you continue to experience discolouration of water, please advise council on 6549 3700.
"We apologise for any inconvenience the temporary suspension of water supply may cause - and thank residents for their ongoing support and assistance in maintaining our community's critically important infrastructure assets."
