IF you see someone in Aberdeen with a big smile on their face today - there's a reason.
A lottery player finally discovered they're $200,000 richer after checking their Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot ticket almost a month after the draw.
The Upper Hunter resident won the guaranteed first prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1374, drawn on Wednesday, July 3.
However, how the winner plans to spend their windfall will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The winning entry was purchased at the Aberdeen Newsagency in Macqueen Street.
Aberdeen Newsagency owner Julie Burgess said she was thrilled to have sold another massive prize.
"It's been a few years since we've had a major win in store so we're very happy for our lucky winner," she stated.
"It's great to know they've finally checked their ticket to discover they're a winner.
"The win has generated plenty of excitement in town and lots of questions from our customers.
"We hope the winner really enjoys their prize."
NSW Lotteries spokesperson Lauren Cooney said although it's taken this player more than a month to check their ticket, she's sure it won't take them long to think of how they'll enjoy their prize.
"While we might never know exactly how the Aberdeen player plans to spend their prize we're sure they'll enjoy their windfall," she explained.
"Many Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot players tell us their prize gives them the financial freedom to splurge on a dream holiday, spoil their nearest and dearest or pay off a huge chunk of their mortgage."
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $87.16 million for draw 1410 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $2.84 million for draw 10303.
