"WOW, wow, wow" was all an emotional Patty Moffitt could say when the Upper Hunter Men of League (MoL) presented her with a new four-wheel mobility scooter on Monday.

Local branch president Paul Medd, along with wellbeing officers Tony Witt and Jan Thompson, were on hand to give the $8200 "vehicle" to the well-respected Muswellbrook resident, who's been a stalwart of the code for many years.
The senior Rams, and in particular Gary "Bomber" Jones, notified the Upper Hunter MoL of Ms Moffitt's situation - and the foundation was keen to lend some assistance.
"Patty has unselfishly given her time and energy to foster the league cause in the district," Ms Thompson said.
"She's a lady who's done something for everyone at one stage or another.
"We're certain that the game would not be in as strong a position as it is, without her involvement.
"Over 40-odd years, since moving to Muswellbrook, Patty's campaigned for the mini and mod league, as well as the inclusion of the girls to play.
"She's been in many volunteer positions, too, including secretary of both the junior and senior clubs, and helped in the canteens.
"Even though she retired in 2000, due to the diagnosis of a terminally-ill grandchild, she continues to follow and support league.
"Her other younger relatives play in Group 21, and in reps, while another has taken the touch field recently for Australia.
"Her commitment to the code, locally, has been recognised with Life Membership of the Muswellbrook Rams' junior and senior organisations."
As for Ms Moffitt herself, she was overwhelmed by the gesture.
"This will change my life," she said.
"After being somewhat restricted - having a walker - I can now go shopping, see my grandchildren play sport and attend medical appointments.
"I'll be whizzing around everywhere.
"It's not until you become immobile that you realise the things you've taken for granted [like walking] in the past.
"So, this donation is unbelievable - I honestly never imagined it.
"I'm extremely proud to be a member of the MoL.
"And, even more, I am over-the-moon by this [generous] act."
