The educational facility is delighted to be the recipient of funding from the Bengalla Mining Company as part of its Community Development Fund.

The money will be used to provide a gymnastics program for all students in Term 4, ensuring they can participate at no cost to families.

DPS was thrilled to welcome Bengalla representatives Beth Walsh and Taylah Moore to day one of the initiative on Friday.

"Gym Matrix is a mobile service providing gymnastics programs in schools," the company's community relations specialist Fiona Hartin said.

"They have a comprehensive range of equipment, which they bring to the school to support the program implementation.

"Each week, students learn new gymnastics skills and refine those learnt.

"They work on fitness, flexibility, coordination and technique.

"This school-based program ensures all students have the opportunity within school hours to access physical activity, which is fantastic as there are no gymnastics programs available out of school hours within the Denman community for them to access."

DPS principal Megan Druitt praised Bengalla for its support.

"After a fantastic response from students and families to both programs in 2018, we are delighted to be able to continue these opportunities for pupils in 2019 thanks to the company's generosity," she said.

The Bengalla Community Development Fund was established to support local communities to address development challenges and take advantage of emerging prospects.

Denman Public School is extremely appreciative of the generous donations, which will support Semester 2 sports programs for all students.
