Upper Hunter MP Michael Johnsen said the funding from the Flying Fox Grants Program would assist council implement an education program within the community.
"Additionally, the grant will aid a subsidy program for adjacent businesses to access high-pressure cleaners, car covers and clothesline covers," he explained.
"Funded through the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment and administered by Local Government NSW, the grants program is made available to address identified flying fox management issues facing NSW councils.
"It also assists councils implement emergency flying fox camp management measures where there are significant community impacts.
"Funding supports the preparation of flying fox camp management plans and implement approved actions in flying fox camp management plans."
Mr Johnsen said the NSW Government supported land managers in a number of ways to manage any impacts of flying foxes on their land.
"This includes providing technical advice and financial support through a number of grant programs that backs conservation and the effective and humane management of flying foxes in NSW," he added.
"The $500,000 Flying Fox Grants Program has four streams of funding available to local councils and other land managers and is administered by Local Government NSW."
