Naturally, concerns about the bite of the sun are evident in parents' minds and club officials are continuously on the look out for ways to lessen the impact.
Luckily for Brook Junior Cricket Club, major sponsor MACHch Energy has come on board to support the children in a number of ways throughout the summer.
Civil engineer at the company Josh Kelly said assuring the safety of young athletes was one of the most crucial aspects of the sport.
"We've helped out the club with some sun safe shirts for the season, and some sun protection with the gazebo," he stated.
"We gave funding of $5000 to the club and this is what they found the use for."
They came aboard in the 2018-19 campaign, and provided hats, drink bottles and iPads to help with scoring that time around.
Brook junior club president Peter Cooper said he was grateful for their sponsor's contribution.
"We're very thankful, it's a massive support for the junior club since we're all volunteers and we donate all of our time," he said.
"Sun protection is a huge thing, just having long sleeve shirts and collared shirts for the kids to make sure they don't get sunburnt, and shade protection for them sit under is great.
"Without this support we wouldn't be able to get things like this so it's very important, especially for littler kids."
