Jirsch Sutherland was appointed as a voluntary administrator for the firm, which provides a number of services to the mining industry, including maintenance, civil and labour support, in September.
At the time, Bradd William Morelli, Sule Arnautovic and Trent Andrew Devine were assigned to manage and investigate the affairs of the organisation so that a Sale of the Business, as a going concern and/or Deed of Company Arrangement (DoCA), could be explored.
Their appointment extended over the following companies Holdings (MRS) Pty Ltd, Bachmann Plant Hire Pty Ltd, MRS Property No1 Pty Ltd, Management Resource Solutions Pty Ltd and MRS Services Group Pty Ltd, which is located at Thomas Mitchell Drive, Muswellbrook.
But, on Wednesday, local employees were informed that the business would cease to exist in less than 10 days, with one worker telling the Muswellbrook Chronicle that MRSSG had gone into liquidation.
Jirsch Sutherland backed up the claim.
"On November 29, we expect the positions of the entire MRSSG workforce, approximately 220 employees, to be terminated," a spokesperson said.
"There will be a small group of MRSSG employees that Jirsch Sutherland engages on a casual basis beyond November 29 - to assist with any residual wind down.
"With regards to employee entitlements, Jirsch Sutherland expects these to be paid in early/mid 2020 unless the Fair Entitlements Guarantee (FEG) pays them earlier."
The MRS Services Group is headquartered in Newcastle with operations in the Upper Hunter and Ipswich.
