Talented Holly McDonald, who played Ariel in the Muswellbrook Amateur Theatrical Society's production of The Little Mermaid earlier this year, received the prestigious Bengalla Peter Riddy Memorial Scholarship.
The mining company's community relations specialist Fiona Hartin was on hand to make the presentation to the youngster.
Bridie O'Neill was awarded the Upper Hunter Shire Council Barry Rose Memorial Scholarship, while Singleton Shire Council Scholarships went to Finn Arnold, Charlotte Davey and Hanz Java.
