"We were a bit rusty in the first few weeks," the winning skipper admitted.
"But, we're back now which is good."
The 24-year-old led the charge in the second innings with an unbeaten 67 to chase down Creeks' target of 157.
"I actually missed the start of the season due to a brain injury, so it's good to be back," the former Maitland City first grader added.
"It was my last game of first grade for Denman (Bengalla Hunter Valley Group 21 Rugby League side) and we partied on and I sort of fell off the back of a ute."
Denman will now open its T20 account against PCH this Saturday, December 7, while Creeks will battle JPC.
"I wouldn't say we're premiership favourites just yet," Bowd said.
"However, we're entering this summer in pretty good form so we'll see what happens."
