Juniors and seniors made their way onto Olympic Park on Monday evening for the final round before the holiday period.
It was a far cry from the previous week, when organisers were forced to postpone the action.
"The smoke haze [around the region] and high temperature meant we called off the junior, ladies and mixed formats," director Paul Benkovic said.
"The players' welfare is always our primary concern.
"So, we just replicated the draw [for December 16].
"This season, we're fielding more than 70 teams from the 7-8 years [age group] through to mixed seniors.
"It's certainly one of the most popular sports in Muswellbrook.
"And, before we return, the association will unleash seven sides on the Hornets Regionals at Nelson Bay on February 1 and 2.
"That tournament also doubles as the debut for our under-8 squad.
"It's the first time we've had a team in that division.
"Afterwards, six sides will contest the NSW Touch Junior State Cup [northern conference] at Port Macquarie."
The local competition is set to resume on Monday, February 3.
