Traffic all clear on New England Highway
TRAFFIC was affected in both directions on the New England Highway, between Muswellbrook and Singleton, due to a grass fire.
A spokesperson for the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) said multiple crews - including Edinglassie and Darlington RFS) brigades, and Fire and Rescue NSW personnel from Muswellbrook, Singleton and Rutherford - responded to the blaze on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 31.
It's believed to be about four hectares in size.
The fire burnt a few kilometres east of the Liddell and Bayswater power stations - on land at the Ravensworth mine site, according to the NSW RFS.
Hunter Valley Police District was also on the scene.
