The new-look InterACTs format, formerly known as All Stars, hit the stage on Saturday, January 18, to present an entertaining, colourful concert in front of an appreciative crowd.
The show culminated a week-long workshop that included 75 Upper Hunter students from Years 7 to 12 and 36 Hunter Disability Services (HDS) clients.
The audience was treated to The Wiggles' classic Big Red Car, as well as tracks from blockbuster films such as The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Frozen, Moana, Kung Fu Panda and much more.
"It all went fantastically - everyone had a ball and put in a 110 per cent effort," coordinator Chic Taylor said.
"We enjoyed a terrific response from the community, despite there being so many things on.
"The entire concert ran very smoothly, too.
"Some of the participants even showcased their talents as solo performers.
"From all comments I received afterwards, it was a great success."
Ms Taylor also praised the youngsters from the various schools, including Merriwa, Scone, Aberdeen, Muswellbrook and Denman.
"The pupils really excelled in putting on the InterACTs week and concert," she said.
"Special mention must go to Alex and Ella, who were the leaders this year.
"They are exceptional young adults.
"We'd like to thank Robert Holstein, and all St Joseph's students and staff, in organising and conducting the event.
"Your commitment and dedication is just incredible.
"We'd like to thank Challenge Community Services as well, for joining us throughout the week and having loads of fun."
Above all, it's the clients from Hunter Disability Services who benefit the most.
"This is the first year HDS, Muswellbrook PCYC and St Joseph's Aberdeen came together to continue the annual event," Ms Taylor said.
"The workshops and concert not only highlight abilities and strengths but creates lasting friendships, which means so much to all involved.
"The participants from HDS and Challenge had a great time.
"The whole week there were smiles everywhere - and many memories were made.
"It makes a big difference in their lives, too."
