After a disappointing campaign last season, which saw the Bengalla Hunter Valley Group 21 Rugby League club sit out the first grade competition, it's all systems go under the watchful eyes of new co-coaches Marcus Bower and John Deakin.
Preparation for the return to the top division is now in full swing every Tuesday and Thursday evening at Olympic Park, even in sweltering temperatures.
"We've had a good roll-up so far," Bower said.
"And, they were tough conditions the first week back.
"John and I are happy with the numbers, especially at this time of the year.
"There's no ifs or buts, Muswellbrook will have a first grade side again.
"Everyone's been working hard at training."
The arrival of front-rower Adam Grew and fullback/five-eighth Matt Simon will boost the Rams' playing stocks, too, according to Bower.
"Both have a fair bit of experience from the Newcastle competition," he said.
"Then we've got 2019 captain-coach Mick Henry and Adam Bartholomew on deck as well.
"Those guys will easily complement the talented youngsters coming through the club.
"On top of that, Bailey Taylor, Bailey Ellis, Lennie Craft, Paul Dengate and Clinton Blenman are returning to the fold.
"So, it's good to boast some depth.
"We're not 100 per cent sure when Group 21 is kicking off.
"But, we are aiming to play two trials leading into the Scanlon Shield, which will take place at Aberdeen's McKinnon Field."
