Run by the Muswellbrook Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), and open to its members, the main prize currently belongs to The Remington Hotel who have won the past two accolades.
However, other prestigious honours go to the best in the sectors of community groups/not-for-profit, financial services, health and beauty services, hospitality and tourism, new business, professional services, retail (small), retail (large), trades and industry (small), trades and industry (large) and best presented business.
It's an excellent chance for locals to show how much dedication and effort they put into their work, according to MCCI president Mike Kelly.
"We're encouraging them to use the process, not just to compete against other businesses, but to do some self-analysis," he said.
"To answer the questions and the judging criteria, to talk about how they manage their business and staff, what their marketing plans are, what goals they set and have achieved in the last year, what their plans are for the future."
He also stated that the challenge of having independent judges come and inspect people's workplace, and also provide tips on what they could to better or more efficiently, is another advantage of the program.
Nominations close on February 21, judging will take place between March 9 and 13, and the official ceremony will then follow on April 3.
